Does anyone remember [maybe mid 60's] a cartoon featuring the Jolly Green Giant? I checked youtube and found some creepy old ads but think it was half hour or longer rabbits garden etc. [I may have got Peter Cottontail mixed in there somehow too I'm not sure] any help would be appreciated as this is nagging at my brain

There was a superhero of that name in the '40s, but I don't know anything about him as a cartoon star. Of course, there's always The Hulk.
When I lived in New Orleans (my favorite city in the entire world, by the way), District Attorney Jim Garrison was known as The Jolly Green Giant because he had a deep, loud way of laughing. (I understand he once concealed his identity at a hotel by registering as "J.G. Giant".) When he launched his investigation into the Kennedy murder and went around arresting local businessmen like Clay Shaw, who happened to be homosexual, a new explanation for the nickname was offered: He was called The Jolly Green Giant because he cans fruits.
