Does anyone know how comic strips were physically distributed to different newspapers during the early 1900s?
For instance, once Winsor McCay finished a Little Nemo strip and it was colored, how did the various newsapapers around the country get a copy of it to run in their own Sunday paper? Was it possible to wire images that early on, or did copies have to by physically delivered to the different papers?
Anyone know? I'm curious.
