Well I'm new here but it looks like I'm not the only one seeing how the forum is kind of empty. Anyway, I thought this would be a good icebreaker for us all so we can get to know some other people who share a common interest... cartoons of course!
I'm curious to know what everyone's favorite cartoon is.
Out of all of the present day cartoons, I think my favorite one is Family Guy. I know that there isn't much to the show but I can't help but laugh at just about everything the writers come up with. I don't think one Family Guy episode has disappointed me and they just keep getting better. We could probably take this even deeper with favorite episodes from those cartoons but that is a hard decision to make if you can even choose a favorite cartoon.
Out of all of the "older" cartoons - keep in mind I'm 21 - I always enjoyed Bugs Bunny.
Now that I think about it, it would be interesting to see what everyone's top 10 list of toons looks like instead of just their favorite. I'll have to put one together later as I didn't even think about it until just now.
Oh and awesome website by the way, I keep getting sucked into it and lose track of time =P.

Top ten, huh? I don't think I could do that. How about top three? Four that, let's start with Bruce Timm's Batman: The Animated Series, then go on to his two versions of Justice League to start off. Number three would be The Simpsons. And if I had to pick a number four, I'd go with the Canadian series Reboot.

Welcome to the group, Pinball. We're still in the process of developing a personality for this forum, so you (and everyone posting) can get in on the ground floor in making one.
I'm not all that big a fan of Family Guy, but don't mind watching it if it happens to come on between The Simpsons and American Dad, both of which I adore. (Tho my wife, GiGi, who will take over moderating the forum soon as she recovers from more than a week in the hospital, can barely tolerate The Simpsons.) I am definitely not a fan of King of the Hill, and will usually retire to the office if it happens to be in that slot.
Say, I remember 21. (I hit the Big Six-Oh this year. In a few months, I'll no longer be a mere 60, but "in my sixties". My children are older than 21.)
Rfloto, that reminds me. One of these days, I'll have to do an article on Reboot.

P.S.
Rfloto, we don't seem to have UBB codes here. I guess you noticed. I'll probably have a meeting next week with the programmers who created the New Look, and that's on the agenda.

Thanks for the warm welcome Don, glad to be here.
Personally, I never really got into the Simpsons and I enjoy watching American Dad but I don't think I like it nearly as much as Family Guy.
I'll have to agree with you on King of the Hill though, that show is very boring and reminds me too much of the small town I grew up in back in the midwest ;). I do like to occasionally quote Hank Hill sometimes though just because he has a funny voice.

Don,
With the editor, I didn't think there was a need for BBCode, but as you noticed, it appears that some visitors might like to use it, so I whipped up a small implementation of BBCode.
supported BBCodes are:

Yeah, I noticed after posting that the UBB Codes didn't work (at least at the time, thanks BGZ), and that there wasn't an editing function. I guess it will make me a little more careful how my post looks before I submit it. And I guess that's not a bad thing...

I'm a fan of the classics - Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, etc... but I haven't seen a lot of older toons lately. I've been thinking about buying the Looney Tunes classics DVDs everyone was making such a big deal over a couple years ago.
American Dad is by far my favorite toon that's on right now. The Simpsons, Invader Zim, Futurama, Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Batman, Backyardigans, and Animaniacs are are all favorites, too. Yeah, I think that exceeds my Top 10, and I know I'm forgetting a few. :)
My daughter's favorite cartoon is SpongeBob. I'm so tired of SpongeBob. He is the reason I'm going to discuss with my housemates a rule stating that only one episode of any given TV show can be seen in our house per 12 hour period. I think I'd tolerate SpongeBob a lot better that way. (My dad made the very logical, and very much objected to, rule that any given movie would only be seen once per month. If he hadn't made that rule, my sister and I would have worn out our tape of The Little Mermaid in about two months, and driven our parents bonkers in the process.)

Karen,
About Spongebob, you wouldn't happen to be tired of him because of all of the daily Spongebob marathons they run on Nickelodeon would you? ;)

Of course you're a fan of the classics, Karen. You're your father's daughter, aren't you? (By the way, the Spongebob-loving daughter Karen mentions is also the going-on-2 granddaughter I've mentioned once or twice in the blog.)
But you don't have to buy any DVDs to enjoy the classics. Just borrow one of those videotapes I made when you were a kid, with a fine, heterogenous mix of classics and non-classics, taped off of kidvid and stored, as first-generation home video tends to be, in the order in which they were acquired.
I know what you mean, about Megan driving a person crazy by watching Spongebob all the time. She does it when she's over here, too. But are you sure you want to restrict TV shows to one episode in 12 hours? What if they have an American Dad marathon?

Bugs was always a good toon but my favorite is Road Runner due to the Fox's constant usage od TNT to do in the RR. Pinball; help me out please. I'm 71 but recall a strip that had a fat mexicano who juststood there and buttons popped off his shirt--- usually into the waiting mouth ofa chciken. Was that Steve Canyon? Mark Trail? Thanks.
