Like Speed Racer, Gigantor did get a few American-produced comic book series throughout the years.

The first attempt was made by Eternity Comics in the late 1980s. I do not recall how many issues they actually published of that version.

The second, more concerted effort was done by Antarctic Press around 1998. Their series lasted twelve issues. The main reason for that short run is that in the late 1980s, there was very few English translations of Japanese manga in the market then compared to the flood of today. However, by the time AP got their hands on Gigantor, the floodgates were beginning to open, & what the public wanted were Sailor Moon, DBZ, & Pokemon, so the only fans willing to buy a book based on Gigantor were old fans nostalgiac about him.

Despite the poor showing, AP tried him again in 2005, this time in a pocket-size format. However, only one issue was published of this version.

I hope I have filled you in on Gigantor's US comic book exploits!
