Need to figure this out

Today at work my boss asked us if we remembered a specific cartoon character and what his name was. The second he described the character I knew who he was talking about but couldn't place the name. The character was almost definitely in Bugs cartoon. He was a small fast talking shy mouse. When he would talk he would clasp his hands together in front of his body. He had a cute meek voice. Please someone help us figure this out.

I'm with you - I can see the character in my mind, but I can't come up with his name. Don seems to be tied up with other things right now but he should be back soon, and will probably have the answer.

Thanks for stepping in, Rob. Yes, I've been tied up with other things -- changing my residence. I expected a brief Internet interruption, but it turned out to be almost a week to get just the bare bones of a connection going, and even now I'm not very usefully connected -- I haven't yet succeeded in getting the line to go through the router into my own machine, but am connected through my wife's machine, and using a new account because I can't seem to sign on with any existing one.
But that's neither here nor there. I don't know of any mouse characters who ever guest-starred with Bugs, and Sniffles, Hubie and Bertie don't sound like it. Warner Bros. also had one called Blabbermouse, but I don't know that one very well.
Do you happen to know the names of any Bugs cartoons this guy was in? I'm not getting a good enough picture of him in my mind to spot him.

I wish I could name a cartoon that he was in. I'm not even sure that it was with Bugs... could have been Porky... The character was small and cute but could have been something other than a mouse. My memory of the character has a relatively early Warner Bros. feel to it - 1940s? If it wasn't a Warner's cartoon, it felt like one. The voice was distinctive - high-pitched, nervous, sing-songy.
I hope somebody recognizes the character soon - this is driving me nuts now.

As well it should, Rob. Come on, guys. It shouldn't take a week to get a simple question like this answered.

I am fairly certain that the name of the little mouse character is Sniffles. I was trying to find an old cartoon about a fetching little ant that sang by a piano while holding a parasol when I stumbled onto your posting. I immediately recognized the description. Here is a link to a page with most of the cartoons in which he appeared, along with synopses for them, [link:home.wi.rr.com] and here is a link to a youtube video, [link:video.google.com]

I am sorry. The link that I provided for the filmography appears to be broken. You might try pasting the following in the address bar //home.wi.rr.com/tatay/cartoons/sniff2.html, and do not forget to add "http:" at the beginning of the string.

I wouldn't exactly say the link is "broken". That just seems to be the way links work in my forum. Boy, if I ever have another site revamped by professionals at high cost, there's no way I'm going to let them talk me into paying for their own custom software. Off the shelf is how I'm going. Tried and true. To @$%!! with reinventing the wheel.
Anyway, the description does sound like Sniffles, but I don't recall him ever appearing with Bugs.

Hello again,
I do not recall this little fellow ever appearing with Bugs, however, as I recall this was a Merrie Melody, which was later adopted by Warner Brothers, hence the connection to, and confusion about Bugs.
