I remember this 5 minute cartoon about two dogs, a big one and a small one. They got famous with a stage show where the small dog hits the big one with a hammer on the foot then the big one jumps around the stage yelling in pain. After doing the same routine for years the big dog finally grabs the hammer from his buddy and reverses their roles.
The most ridiculous thing about this little story is the bongo theme that kicks in when the bulldog starts jumping around, He is shouting out something like PAPITOOOOOOOS. I've met people who've seen this in their childhood and were marked forever.
The only thing I remember about this story is that it was probably featured in an episode of the Woody Woodpecker show.
