Isn't "robonic" derived from "robot" and "moronic"? Since the Stooges often refered to each other as morons and considering the goofiness of the heros, I suspect this was the real root of the term.

I thought of that. "Moronic" is such a Stooge-like term, it's a natural connection. I decided not to mention it, because "robonic" actually does get used in other areas (thank you, Google), tho it's rare.
But you could be right -- maybe it was intended that way. I'll think about going back to change it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think "robot + bionic" is probably the origin of the Stooge version of the term "robonic", since "The Bionic Woman" came out sometime previous to the Stooge cartoon, and was likely a big influence on the latter. However, "moronic" could also be a secondary influence, even if somewhat after the fact.

That's a good point too. I wasn't thinking about that show, so I didn't make the connection. I'll have to look it up before changing anything. Thanks.

One mistake in the Robonic Stooges article: The Stooge lineup featured in the cartoon is not the short-lived one of Moe/Larry/Joe, but the classic one of Moe/Larry/Curly.
Of course, Curly was long deceased by the time of the cartoons, as was his replacement Shemp (Moe & Curly's brother). Joe was still alive & working in cartoons, as mentioned. Joe's replacement "Curly-Joe" was also still alive, having had a 'toon connection by virtue of voicing himself in The New Three Stooges (with Moe & Larry) in the '60s.

I never could keep my Stooges straight. I'll go over the article when I get a chance, and see if I can't get it right. Thanx for the correx.

Don, did you get my email about the Stooges along with Speed Carter and Space Mouse? You've already fixed half of the things I wrote about, but the other half are still there.

Probably, but I'm a little behind in getting corrections done. I'll try to get to that today.

I see you made a correction. Unfortunately, you're still not quite there. Curly-Joe DeRita, the last 3rd Stooge (1958 on), was in a different cartoon -- the New Three Stooges in the '60s, where the guys voiced themselves. But I believe the 3rd Stooge in the Robonic cartoons was supposed to be the original Curly Howard(retired 1946, died 1952).
