This is a really great site for info on all those old cartoons, and quite a few new ones. I'm wondering where all the Japanese cartoons are though? Animes like Akira, Berserk, Hellsing, Ninja Scroll, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. Will those ever be written about on the site?

I guess the site is about American cartoons and comic books, even if its not emphasized. Can't see any European comics like Asterix or Tintin either. For what it does, giving a good view of the history of U.S. comics and cartoon, this is the best page on web.

I apologize for taking so long to get onto the message boards on my own site, but things have been especially hectic lately, partly work-related but even more in personal areas. I'll try to do better at keeping up-to-date here.
Yes, Kai, this site is about American cartoons. I said so specifically, when I launched it in 2001, but that's hidden now, underneath the toon list on the Home Page. We're still working out the exact layout, and hopefully it'll be easier to find in the future.
But I also have overseas material, when it has a strong impact here. For example, Smurfs is Belgian, and I certainly have written that one up. I'll get to Asterix and Tintin eventually (see FAQ).
The reason I haven't done any Japanese stuff at all, Tessai, is that I'm a little bit scared to. A lot of it has had strong impact in America, which is why writing one up will be the opening of a floodgate. Do one, and I won't be able to do anything else for a month. And I'll never get to the point where someone who's really into that stuff will be satisfied.
Fortunately, there's lots of excellent material on the Web catering to fans of manga and anime. So I know they're well served even if I'll never be able to compete in that area.
