Yogi Bear's Honey Fried Chicken

Not me. In fact, this is hte first I've ever heard of it -- tho I'm a big fan of Popeyes Fried Chicken.

I'd like to see a comeback of it not because of the Yogi connection (I like Popeyes Fried Chicken because of the taste, not the Popeye connection), but because the idea of frying chicken with honey strikes me as worth trying.

I've never heard of Yogi Bear's Honey Fried Chicken either, but it reminds me - I first heard about Dagwood's Sandwich Shoppes a couple of years ago. It looks like they're making a go of it, although most of their shops are in or near Florida:

I was a kid, but I do remember it. Had a t-shirt and I want to say it was one of several part-time jobs my Grandfather had. But, it could be he just liked the fried chicken :)

did search for YB honey....   see there is a "graveyard in Halifax NS of old fiberglass yogis cindys etc I'm an old scrounger from way back and sort of thing always interests me just thought i would add my 2cents   thx

Dagwood's Sandwich shop seems like a natural, doesn't it? By the way, today is the anniversary of the first Dagwood sandwich. (I'd have mentioned it in "Today in Toons", but I used that one as recently as two years ago, so I went with another anniversary today.)

Also by the way, "Popeyes Fried Chicken" originally had nothing to do with the famous Sailor May, as attested by the fact that even today, more than a third of a century since it started, it's spelled without an apostrophe. The implication was that it was chicken that would make your eyes pop out. Its first association with the character was when King Features made an issue of it, and insisted they pay licensing fees.

Speaking of a graveyard of old Cindy Bear figures, I know a guy who actually obtained an old Big Boy Restaurant figure.

Where I live, there's a car rental outfit called "Ugly Duckling", the idea being they charge less because they use inexpensive, beat-up old cars. Their lots are marked with 40-foot Duckling figures. I'd love to have one for my back yard, but will my daughters' hooligan boyfriends steal one for me? Noooo! (There's a park nearby with a "Duck Crossing" sign, but they won't even steal a little thing like that for me.)

what's this younger generation coming to , when they wouldn't even steal for an old man ?

We have an annual dinner party, the Bunny Burning, held on the day before Easter (what better time to eat rabbits?). This year (the 14th), we did Bunny Enchiladas, Lemon Garlic Bunny, and Ginger Bunny. Yum yum. A lot of the people who attend them are members of a pirate reenactment group (which mostly functions aa an excuse for pirate-themed parties). A few years ago, a neighborhood grocery store had a really cool promotional display for Captain Morgan Rum, just before Easter. A half-dozen or so of the younger "pirates" planned to drive up in a truck, park illegally by the store entrance (pirates, right?), pour out, suddenly grab the Captain Morgan figure, and be out of the store with it and driving back to eat bunnies, before anyone even realized what was going on.

But the store pulled the display a couple of days earlier. It's getting so you can't trust anybody.
