Do you know this feathery Disney character? He is a really feathery version of Donald Duck. He is wearing a rain coat and rain hat, and looks like he has a beard of feathers. I can send a picture if you send me your email address. Chris

I can get attachments at don@toonopedia.com, but I don't think it's necessary in this case. It sounds like Donald's cousin, Fethry Duck. Friendly, helpful guy, but pushy? Always knows just what to do, but it never turns out well? If so, that's him.
I think he was originally a Gold Key character, probably from the '60s. Dropped out of use years ago in America, but still turns up in Europe. "Ramapith", who posted here early on but hasn't turned up lately, would know more.
A few years ago, there was a story going around that "Fethry" was actually a regular man's name in Britain but seldom used in America, like "Clive" or "Nigel". Y'know, like maybe there's a "Sir Reginald Fethry Frothingslosh" somewhere. But I once Googled it, and the only hits I got were the Disney character, so I guess not.
Anyway, I'll say with a fairly high degree of confidence that you're talking about Fethry Duck.
Quack, Don
